This is due to how the storyline follows a woman who mysteriously disappeared and there is an investigation of what has happened to her and where she is. there is also a theme of dishonesty in which the disappearance of Amy has caught the attention of the media and it leads to the accusation of other people, with her husband, Nick, as the prime suspect. Conventions of a Thriller Low key lighting Shadows Tension music Changes in the angle of shots  Diegetic sound of breathing  Black and white shots Montage of shots Protagonist is in mercy of the Antagonist  In thrillers there are things like shadows and stairs to go with the tension thats being built. The music has an eerie feel to it as its a tension builder.
